Beginning of the year

Employee permit

1. Complete Teacher Tablet Check-Out

Purpose

Filling out this sheet allows the school to accurately keep inventory of what assets have been distributed and what is still available.

** Date/Time check out will be emailed at beginning of the year. Click here to download the Employee Permit For Use School Property form.

2. Check to make sure you have completed the appropriate i21 classes (if you're assigned to i21 classroom only.)

Purpose

To make sure that teachers are familiar with the i21 environment
To make sure teachers can assist students with accessing the i21 classroom

  • Sign in to the ERO system
  • Click on My Transcript or register the course if needed
  • The three classes that are required to use your i21 cart are:
    • Vision and Tablet
    • Promethean Level 1
    • I21 Student Device

Note: ** No i21 training courses is required for non-i21 classroom (classroom without a Promethean board)

3. Get Your Cart Combination

Purpose

Student Use Agreement

To make sure only qualified teachers have access to computer carts
Once you have verified you have taken the three prerequisite classes, email tech for requesting the cart combination
Be sure to include your room number and employee ID in the email

** Note: Not all of i21 classrooms have student devices

4. Have Students Complete Device Cart Use Agreement

Purpose

To hold students accountable for the manner in which they treat school-issued electronics
Prior to using the computer cart as a class, make sure that each student has completed the HS Student Agreement (click the file link to download)

5. Copy Codes

Purpose

To make sure teachers have access to making copies
If you are a new teacher, email your name, room number and employee ID to Lincoln IT
Your copy code will be your employee ID#

6. Sign up for Computer Labs

Purpose

To make sure staff can easily sign-up for computer lab access Mac labs are in room 354, 472, 501, 505, and 654. Each lab has 36 iMacs. PC lab has 36 desktops and is in room 401 (Windows 7, Office 2010, Firefox 38.4, IE 11, Java, plug-ins...)
Email Lincoln IT approximately 3-5 days prior to the day you want to take your class to the computer lab.
In the email, please include the following:

  • What date(s) you want to take yourclass
  • What period(s) you want to takeyour class
  • What assistance, if any, you require

7. Computer Lab Rules

  • Students must clean up the work stations (books, paper, notes, trash, etc...), shutdown the computers, and push the chair in place for next class.
  • Students are responsible for saving their work. Make sure students save them often to their own USB or email to their own email account. It is not advised to save work on the local desktop.
  • Do not copy any software
  • Do not install any shareware into the workstation
  • NO food or drink allowed in the labs
  • For safety issue & internet connection, do not allow students to pull down the ETHERNET / POWER CABLES under tables to charge their personal devices
  • Do not move any equipment
  • Remember to log off your account before leaving
  • For printing (black & white only), select the printer of the room you are using, i.e Room 472, select 472-HP4250

8. Missing or Damaged Technology

Purpose

To make sure that damaged technology is fixed and to make sure that missing technology is replaced

Inventory Loss Form

Call school police at ext. 3020 immediately. If he/she's not available, email School Police with detail.

  • The incident case number will be given to you.
  • Download and complete the Property Damage & Loss (page 1) and Inventory Loss (page 2) with incident number (see sample images below)
  • Sign and have Mr./Mrs. Principal's sign as well
  • Return to IT tech in room 405 to update the Lincoln inventory database at the site and District level

** Property damage & loss forms with the incident case must be submit to Lincoln IT tech within 3-5 days from the reported date. Otherwise, the liability is on you.

9. What to do if I encounter a tech problem?

Purpose

To make sure teachers have access to solutions for their technological issues

Computer Service:

i21 Classroom

  • All computer services must be emailed to Lincoln IT
  • Write with a brief explanation of the issue. For example, the computer #654-09 froze when searching the web (Firefox). OR, the copier machine in room 621 jammed at position D, F, and B after copying 40 pages with 3 hole punch, double side, etc..

Virus / Spyware or Be Asked to Call...

  • Turn off the computer immediately
  • Use your colleague's computer or a computer in the lab to email Lincoln IT tech with high priority.

10. End of Year i21 Check-In

Purpose

To ensure an orderly check-in process for the end of the year

  • Students must clean up the work stations (books, paper, notes, trash, etc...), shutdown the computers, and push the chair in place for next class.
  • Students are responsible for saving their work. Make sure students save them often to their own USB or email to their own email account. It is not Technology Inventory Reportadvised to save work on the local desktop.
  • All the teacher tablets / laptops with devices (mouse, power adapter, laptop case, stylus, and kits, etc..) must be returned to room 405 on/before the last day of school year.
  • I21 teachers must fill-out both forms i21 Classroom End of Year Check List and Classroom Inventory Form (click the file link to download)
  • Non i21 classroom teachers only need to fill out the Classroom Inventory Form (Click the file link below to download)

** Summer school: If you will teach summer school, you're required to check-in the laptop checked out before and check-out the laptop of assigned classroom./

11. Software

As a district employee, you are still eligible to purchase /install Microsoft Office software by visiting the site http://portal.office.com and login with your district email address and AD password. On the upper right-hand side, click on the link "Install Office 2016" or "Office 365".
